Atlanta Restaurateur and Philanthropist, Opens State of the Art Event Space on the Westside
William Platt is investing in a community many left behind through “The B.A.N.K” event space. He is challenging other businesses to do the same
You may not know William Platt, but you probably know his multiple thriving businesses in Atlanta. You may have also seen him on CNN, ABC or MSNBC supporting George Floyd’s daughter, Gianna and her mother, Roxie after the the tragic murder of Floyd. Platt and his wife have been a backbone for the family. The couple threw an epic celebrity-filled birthday party for Gianna in 2020 and later escorted her and her mother to the White House.
Platt is an Atlanta mogul but a philanthropist at heart who is passionate about justice, economic equality, and helping others. Through his multiple businesses and The B.A.N.K foundation, Mr. Platt is investing in the community. He is also pouring into the educational needs of children in inner-city Atlanta.
Along with his wife, Ericka, Mr. Platt owns one of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants, Restaurant Ten, as well as Rosie’s Coffee Cafe franchises and other businesses. The restaurants are near the Mercedes Benz Dome and the State Farm arena. Platt intentionally wanted to build his businesses in the heart of the community. He is now set to open The B.A.N.K, which is a state-of-the-art premiere event space in the heart of the West-side. The acronym stands for “Blessing All Neighborhood Kids.” It is an innovative space with streaming services for live events and business presentations. He is encouraging small business owners, promoters and nonprofits to utilize the upcoming space.
“Our goal for the Bank and the Bank Foundation is to create an innovative space that can be used for events and activities that benefit & serve the community. It was essential to provide this space on the Westside to afford the underserved population the same luxury as residents of the Northside,” said Platt.
