Everything Is Love on Tuesdays with Love Is and We’re The Campbells

Everything is Love, even on television and how refreshing. With so much going on socially and politically sometimes its good to take a mental break and indulge into a little normalcy to balance out the energy. Tuesday TV is filled with a lot of options but if you’re looking for transparency, inspiration balance and love here are two shows that embody these elements. TV One’s new docu-series WE’RE THE CAMPBELLS, starring gospel music superstar Erica Campbell and award-winning producer Warryn Campbell will give you the start of a good vibes only Tuesday night and Own’s Love is will complete the night perfectly.

Meet The Campbells on We’re The Campbells: TV One

Premiering on Tuesday, June 19th at 8/7C . We’re The Campbells is a nine-episode docu-series that gives viewers an intimate glimpse into the lives of Gospel entertainment power couple Warryn and Erica Campbell, as they tackle the everyday struggles that come with balancing family and work, nurturing their marriage, building their individual careers, and fostering their faith; all while raising their three children Warryn, Zaya and teenager Krista. TV One will also feature the couple in its ongoing online series #BLACKLOVE and a digital exclusive after show …WITH WARRYN & ERICA. The weekly online companion content will get up-close-and personal with Warryn and Erica, as they reveal how they have dealt with common issues that could make or break any relationship.

If you know television, Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil ((Black Lightning)need no introduction. They are a couple that has withstood time, career moves and changes. Mara is the brain behind some of our most beloved iconic televisions shows. She has consistently gifted us with strong content filled with substance and writing that captures everyday life for Black women without typical problematic stereotypes. From Girlfriends to Being Mary Jane, and The Game, I don’t know if anyone has captured Black women in television as beautifully or realistically as Mara. I’m not sure we’ve always deserved Mara’s greatness either. Nevertheless, television must have felt the void we did. Thankfully our fairy-tale Godmother, Oprah and her passion to bring goodness in a world that is hard to recognize now signed the Akils to create content for OWN.

The power couple are sharing snippets of their powerful love story in Own’s new scripted drama Love Is. The award-winning producers’ new show is a 90’s love song come to life. The series explores the highs, the lows, and the magic of falling (and staying) in love. According to Own, Love Is is primarily set in the 1990s Los Angeles scene against the backdrop of Black Hollywood, Love Is___ follows Nuri (Michele Weaver) and Yasir (Will Catlett), a couple from seemingly opposite worlds, as they chase their dreams and learn to follow their hearts. Love Is is the romantic drama we’ve been missing. A power couple navigating a complex set of social codes while also balancing successful careers and a beautiful family…how can you not be inspired.
